The Information Technology department exists to provide technology resources and support, enabling the university to offer quality, state of the art education and services to it’s students and constituents.

IT consists of six areas. These areas work together in providing information technology support and services to both academic and non-academic related functions of the university. They are:
Administrative Systems
The area of Administrative Systems is responsible for all hardware and software necessary to carry on all university related business. This area is staffed by Redonna White, Tonya Richardson, AB White, and Jonathan Ray.
Network Support
Network Support includes all support for the Local Area Network, Internet connectivity, voice, data, and video wiring, and all university servers. The Network Support area is staffed by three network administrators; Greg Maples, Jeff Dove, and Tim Heath and a plant cabling administrator; Linard Richardson.
Web Content Management
Web Content Management is new to Freed-Hardeman. It provides a distributed system to manage the University website. The site is managed by our Webmaster Michael Plyler. Kelly Redd in OMUR is responsible for design and each department has its own content providers.
Workstation Support
The area of Workstation Support provides support for all university-owned computers and peripherals. Workstation Support is staffed by Chris Hodges, Eddie Anderson and student workers.
Video and Voice Services
The Video and Voice Services area provides support for video services (Cable TV), voice services (telephones), and multi-media teaching tools. Video and Voice Services is staffed by David Novak.
Portal and Learning Management
Freed-Hardeman University students, faculty, and staff now have a customizable web portal available. The site can be found at http://my.fhu.edu. Faculty and students also have access to our Learning Management System, Blackboard. These sites are overseen by Michael Plyler.
