Advising

Our Business faculty members are dedicated to making your time at FHU as beneficial as possible.  Each Business major has an adviser who will help you figure out the best courses to take so you can graduate in a timely manner.  Our Business advisers are as follows:

Accounting:  Judy McKenzie and Keith Smith
Business Administration (prior to choosing a specific major in Business):  Vicki Johnson
Finance:  Rick Brooks
Human Resource Management
and Management:
Jason Brashier
Management Information Systems:  Mark Scott
Marketing:  Rich Brown and Lee Hibbett

Please feel free to contact our advisers if you have any questions regarding a specific major in Business.

Student Forms

Below are two student forms that are commonly used in the advising process.  The Academic Petition form is used when a student would like to make any academic exceptions, exemptions, changes, or deferrals to the catalog for his/her course of study.  The Course at Another Institution form is used when a student would like to earn credit at another institution and to use it to meet a FHU requirement.  These forms must be completed and turned in to the Dean of the School of Business in order to be approved.

Counseling Guides
Our advisers keep a detailed file of all their advisees.  Included in these files are counseling guides.  A counseling guide is a checklist of all the courses a student has taken or still needs to take in order to obtain a bachelor's degree in Business Administration (B.B.A.).  Students follow the course of study listed in the catalog based on which year they began school at Freed-Hardeman University.  If you would like to keep track of your courses as well, please feel free to download a copy of the counseling guides below.  Please note that general education requirements are listed first, then the B.B.A. requirements.
