Participation Points
Each student is expected to participate in a variety of professional activities during their FHU career. Points may be earned in a variety of ways. Students should keep a record of their points and submit them to their advisor.
I. Certificates --- Points
A. Lifeguard - 5 points
B. Water Safety Instructor - 10 points
C. First Aid Instructor - 5 points
D. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - 3 points
E. CPR Instructor - 5 points
F. Emergency Medical Technician - 10 points
G. Other professional certificates, licenses or extensive experience (WSIT, LGI, RN, LPN, paramedic, etc.) - 10 points
II. Non-Major Organizations
A. Club Member (singing group, social club, etc. - attend 50% of all regular meetings) - 2 /year
B. Club Officer - 4 /year
III. Major Activities
A. All KIN/HEA Courses - 4 /each A
B. Intercollegiate athletics team member/trainer - 5 /sport/year
C. Team manager/statistician - 3 /sport/year
D. Intramural participant/official (3 contest min. - max. of 16 points) - 2 /sport/year
E. Intramural Champions
1. Individual/Dual Activities - 4/sport/year
2. Team member - 2/sport/year
F. Intramural Staff - 5 /year
IV. Pi Epsilon Club
A. Club membership (max. of 8 points) - 2 /year
B. Club attendance (max. of 8 per year) - 1 /meeting
C. Club officer - 5 /year
D. Club committee - 2 /committee
V. Professional Activities
A. Membership - National organization - 5 /year
B. Membership - State organization - 2 /year
C. Membership - Local organization - 1 /year
D. Officer in one of the above - Double points
E. Attendance at National, State or Regional Conference - 5 /meeting
F. Departmental workshop, field trip, seminars, blood drives, outings, etc. - 1-3 each
G. Community involvement: special activities & volunteer work - 1-5 each
H. Summer activities related to major - 1-7 each
I. Sports Officiating Organizations - 4 /year
SUMMARY
A minimum of 50 points required BEFORE graduation.
A maximum of 20 points may be transferred from another school.
Points must be earned in at least four of the five areas.
