We extend our sympathy to Frank Bradford and his family on the death of Beverly Bradford.  She passed away on 6/1/07 early in the morning.  Memorial services were held in Henderson and in Myrtle Beach.  Please keep the family in your prayers.

The Lion Adventure ropes course is complete and consists of ten elements located just south of the camp ground and 3 elements just north of the camp ground and boasts of a 35 ft climbing wall, a 50 ft repelling tower and a 250 ft zipline.  The climbing wall accommodates 8 climbers and belayers.  Cost was about $30,000.  For more information about donating funds for this project or making reservations, please contact Frank Bradford or Tony Allen at 1-800-FHU-FHU1.

Renovation of two bath houses - one girl's and one boy's is complete.  Estimated cost is around $15,000 per bath house.  Brother Rickey Moore, an elder at Broad Street Church of Christ in Lexington, TN, did the work.  The renovation consists of new tile, fixtures, toilets, lighting and sinks.  A special account has been set up for donations for this project.  Please send all donations to Mid-South Youth Camp - bath house renovations.

The two swimming pools have been named for individuals that have showed outstanding leadership and dedication to MSYC.  The pool closest to the girl's cabins has been named "Mrs... Ouida" Landon Pool.  Ouida Landon worked for many years as the camp nurse.  She died of cancer in 2003.  The pool closest to the lake has been named Sharp Pool after Roy and Jan Sharp, who were directors through 2004.

Easter List of things we need done at MSYC:

  • Canoes have leaks that need to be fixed.
  • Repairs need to be made on the roofs of the teaching stations. (Shingles have already been donated.)
  • New Boat Dock (Board Member Jack Seward would welcome donations for this - plans are in the making - those wanting to make donations for new boats and material can be sent to FHU - MSYC Boat Dock Renovations)

Thank you for visiting the website.  I will try to update when jobs have been accomplished.  Frank
