FHU-Belgium

FHU-Belgium

FHU-Belgium is a program packed with travel throughout Europe. While the facility is located in Belgium, students will spend more time traveling outside Belgium than they will in the facility.

The program includes three week-long, group trips to Paris, Greece, and Austria/Germany. The group also takes several day-trips from Belgium to cruise the Rhine River, to Cologne, Germany, and Maastricht, Netherlands. The group also travels to several important cities in Belgium: Bastogne, site of one of the most incredible American victories in World War II, medieval Brugge, city of canals, windmills, and lace-making, Bouillion, home of the leader of the first crusade, and Brussels, the capital of Belgium and Europe, and many others.

Belgium’s convenient location makes independent travel by students throughout western Europe relatively simple. From our facility in eastern Belgium, students can travel by train to Paris in 3½ hours, to Amsterdam in 4 hours, to London in 4½ hours, and to Cologne, Germany in less than 90 minutes.

Our facility is situated downtown in Verviers, Belgium, very near stores, banks and various restaurants. If you want fast food European style, you can find waffles, French fries, and ice cream in just a few minutes. The train station is a 15 minute walk from the facility.
