FHitness for U Wellness Program
The FHitness for U spring '08 wellness program began on January 17, 2008 with 129 participants signing up and checking in at the Main Street Family Fitness Center. The program ended on April 24, 2008 with 105 participants. The program stressed exercise 4 times a week and Bible reading 5 times a week as well as other healthy habits like proper hydration.
The incentive was a monetary award broken into two levels. The highest award was $100.00 and the next award was $50.00.
Some interesting facts:
- 68 participants received the $100 award
- 14 received the $50 award
- A total of 290 lbs were lost by the participants
- The average number of days exercised in this three month period was 51 days
- The average number of days the participants read their Bibles during the program was 68 days
- Two people lost more than 20 lbs
Once again last semester, the FHitness for U wellness program was a tremendous success!
The fall program is in full swing and off to a great start. We have had over 100 people sign up and are anticipating excellent particiapation throughout the semester. There have been some changes that hopefully will help those of you who participate live healthier and more nutritionally informed lives. Some of those changes are:
-
Increased incentive point goals
-
Encouraged participation in the BC/BS Well Wise program
-
Encouraged participation in a Nutrition Diary

Just listen to what some of the participants have to say about the FHitness for U wellness program:
"I wanted to let you know how much I have appreciated the wellness program and its incentives this semester. It was just what I needed to be disciplined about both the exercise and the Bible readings".
"Thanks for working on the wellness program. My results were a wake up call for me."
"I am eating healthier than ever before and walking 4 miles a day! I have also been encouraged to read the Bible daily which is something I have tried to always do but seemed to fail in the past!"
"I think it is very important for FHU to support and encourage behaviors that will help us lead healthier lives".
Thanks to all of our participants for their hard work. We hope that you will find it beneficial to both physically and spiritually. Click below to read about our Fall 2008 program details.
