PERKINS TO JOIN LADY LIONS
Henderson, Tenn. – The Freed-Hardeman University women’s soccer team has been busy this spring adding to its roster for the fall season. Cassie Perkins, a goalkeeper or forward from Winchester, Tenn., has become the eighth addition for the Lady Lions.
Perkins is currently a senior at Huntland High School where she was named All-District and to the All-tournament teams. Perkins had a .92 save average her senior year. She also played basketball at Huntland. Perkins will graduate as a Valedictorian and plans to major in Biology at Freed-Hardeman.
“Cassie is someone that will really help our program because of her versatility,” said head coach Jason Elliott. “She is quick off her feet in goal but I expect her to see time on the field for us due to her aggressiveness and athletic ability.”
Cassie is the daughter of Bill and Elayne Perkins.

HARRIS SIGNS WITH LADY LIONS SOCCER PROGRAM
Henderson, Tenn. – The Freed-Hardeman University women’s soccer program has announced their seventh addition to the 2007 recruiting class, according to FHU head coach Jason Elliott. Tiffany Harris, a goalkeeper from Columbia, Missouri, has signed to play her collegiate soccer for the Lady Lions beginning in the fall.
“Tiffany is a player that we have wanted for a while now and we are looking forward to her coming to FHU,” said Elliott. “Her quickness and leadership in goal is something that will help our program immediately.”
Harris has been a standout performer for Rock Bridge High School and for the U18 Carrera soccer club. She had a Goals Against Average of 0.77 for the Rock Bridge Lady Bruins with four shutouts. The Carrera soccer club has had a lot of success in the past two years, posting a 33-7-0 record. Carrera won the Norco Invitational Tournament and the Tournament in the Woods, while finishing runner-up of the Capital Shootout. Harris allowed only one goal last season for the soccer club and had a 0.09 Goals Against Average.
Harris is the daughter of Chris and Jenny Harris of Columbia, MO.

HARGIS SIGNS WITH LADY LIONS
Henderson, Tenn. – The Freed-Hardeman University women’s soccer team has announced their sixth addition to the 2007 recruiting class, according to FHU head coach Jason Elliott. Shannon Hargis, a forward from Hendersonville, Tenn., has agreed to play her collegiate soccer for the Lady Lions beginning in the fall.
Hargis will graduate this spring from Merrol Hyde Magnet School where she is a two time All-county, All-tournament, and All-district performer, and was voted Most Athletic in her class. Hargis has been a member of the student council, and plans to major in Public Relations at Freed-Hardeman University while participating in honors.
“We are looking forward to Shannon coming to join our program,” said head coach Jason Elliott. “I expect her to develop and contribute here both to our program and to the student body.”
Shannon is the daughter of Jeff and Dana Hargis.

LADY LION SOCCER ADDS TEXAN TO 2007 ROSTER
Henderson, Tenn. – FHU head soccer coach Jason Elliott has announced the signing of Lindsay Riggs to a soccer scholarship beginning this fall. Riggs is a midfielder or goalkeeper from Van Alstyne, Texas and will enroll as a freshman in August.
Riggs is currently in her senior year at Van Alstyne High School, where she has played basketball and softball in addition to her successful soccer career. She has also played club soccer for the Rally.
“We are looking forward to Lindsay’s arrival on campus,” said Elliott. “She has the ability to play different positions, and that versatility will help us greatly. She has great instincts in goal.”
Lindsay is the daughter of Howard and Judy Riggs of Van Alstyne.

COLUMBIA ACADEMY STANDOUT CHOOSES FHU
Henderson, Tenn. – Danae Elder, a defender from Columbia, Tenn. has signed to play her collegiate soccer at Freed-Hardeman University, according to head coach Jason Elliott.
Elder is currently in her senior year at Columbia Academy. During her time at CA, Elder has won the 2006 Bulldog Award for top player and was named to the 2006 All-District team. During her career, CA has won the district championship every year, won the region championship in 2003, 2004, and 2005, won sub-state in 2003, 2004, and 2005, and made a state tournament appearance in 2005.
Elder has also been involved in many off the field groups and activities. She was a Miss CA nominee, a homecoming court attendant, a member of the National Honor Society, was the Junior Civitan vice president and was involved in other various clubs.
“We are glad that Danae has chosen to be a Lady Lion,” said head coach Jason Elliott. “She will help us in the back right away. She will make a great addition to the program and to the student body.”
Danae is the daughter of Jerry and Pam Elder of Columbia, Tenn.

THOMPSON INKS WITH LADY LIONS
Henderson, Tenn. – Lily Thompson, a forward from Dickson, Tenn. has signed to play her collegiate soccer at Freed-Hardeman University. Thompson will join the Lady Lions in the fall.
Thompson plans to major in journalism at FHU. She has played forward at Creekwood High School, and in 2005 was tied for the leading scorer while leading the team in assists. She was also named Most Valuable Player of the Coffee Cup ‘05.
“Lily is a good addition to our program and the school here,” said head coach Jason Elliott. “I look for her to work hard here and develop over the coming years.”
Lily is the daughter of Phil and Angela Thompson.

LADY LIONS SIGN CLARKSVILLE STANDOUT
Henderson, Tenn – Cassie Messina of Clarksville, Tenn. has signed to play her collegiate soccer career at Freed-Hardeman University. She will enroll in August to play for the Lady Lions.
Messina is a defender who played at Rossview High School. She also competed on the Royals Futbol Club. At Rossview H.S. she was named a team captain, received the Coaches’ award and was named Most Dedicated. She was also on the All-district and All-tournament teams. Rossview won the district championship in 2002-2004 and the sectional championship in 2003. Her club team won the Div. 2 and Div. 3 state championship.
“Cassie will help us right away,” said head coach Jason Elliott. “Her background and experience will help her to contribute in the back in August. We are looking forward to her coming.”
Cassie is the daughter of Tony and Kathie Messina of Clarksville.

HARBACH INKS WITH LADY LIONS
Henderson, Tenn.—According to head coach Jason Elliott, Leanne Harbach, a defender from Freeport, Ill. has signed to play her collegiate soccer at Freed-Hardeman University. Harbach will enroll as a freshman in August to play for the Lady Lions.
Harbach is currently a senior at Freeport High School, and will soon begin her senior soccer season. She was voted the team’s Best Defensive player her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. Harbach will come to Freed-Hardeman University carrying a 3.8 grade point average with plans to major in Biology.
“Adding depth in our defensive line is a key for us for next year,” said head coach Jason Elliott. “Leanne will help us in multiple ways, but her defensive mindset and field awareness in particular will enable her to have a great four years here.”
Leanne is the daughter of Bruce and Karen Harbach of Freeport.
