1) What degrees are offered online at Freed-Hardeman University?
A) The MBA Program offers two degrees in our program. The MBA in leadership and MBA in accounting are 36 credit hour degrees which can earned entirely online, on-campus, or in a mixture of the two formats.
The MBA in leadership degree has no prerequisite requirements. The MBA in accounting degree contains 18 credit hours of prerequisites in undergraduate accounting.

3) How do I apply for admission to the MBA Program?
A) There are three options for you to apply for admission to the MBA Program at Freed-Hardeman University. These options are for both the online and traditional MBA Program. They are:
1) Submit an application for admission online.
2) Download and submit an application for admission in PDF format.
3) Contact the MBA Program at (800) 348-3481 or jbrown@fhu.edu and request an application be mailed to you.
4) Does the MBA Program require any prerequisite credit hours?
A) The MBA in leadership degree has no prerequisite credit hours. The MBA in accounting degree has 18 prerequisite credit hours (Principles of Accounting I & II, Intermediate Accounting I & II, Principles of Taxation, and Principles of Auditing) which must be completed before the 9 emphasis credit hours in accounting can be taken. You can enroll in the 27 core credit hours without these prerequisite credits being completed.
5) How do I register for my MBA courses? Is there a registration deadline?
A) To register for your first MBA course, you must contact Dr. Tom DeBerry (tdeberry@fhu.edu) or Sandra Foster (slfoster@fhu.edu) at (731) 989-6091. Once you are a registered student, you will be given login information and be able to register your own courses using FHU's IQ Web system.
Effective January 2009, a registration deadline will be in effect for all MBA classes. In each term, students must register for classes a minimum of one week prior to the scheduled start date of classes. This will insure time for students to obtain required books and materials and for the course instructor to adjust the course's learning activities to the size of the class.
6) How do I get my books?
A) You may purchase your books from the FHU Bookstore or any outside company you choose.
7) What are the tuition and fees?
A) The graduate tuition rate for Freed-Hardeman University is $347 per credit hour. There is a technology fee of $15 per credit hour and an application fee of $32. Students taking online classes will be charged a $100 online access fee for each class and not the $15 technology fee. Other special fees which may apply to you are located at Tuition and Fees.
8) Will I have an advisor?
A) The academic advisor for MBA students is Dr. Tom DeBerry. He is the Director of the MBA Program and can be contacted at (731) 989-6659 or tdeberry@fhu.edu.
9) Will I qualify for financial aid?
A) Financial aid is any form of money for your college education that comes from resources other than yourself. Federal need based aid is awarded based on financail need as defined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
You should submit your FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1st of each year at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you have any questions, contact the Office of Financial Aid at (800) 630-3481 or finaid@fhu.edu.
10) Is Freed-Hardeman University accredited?
A) Freed-Hardeman University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award bachelor's and master's degrees.
