Being a Non-commercial / Educational radio station limits our operating budget from year to year. Therefore, we rely on Underwriting Grants (gifts) from area businesses, listeners, alumni and friends of WFHU to help us suppliment our annual operating expenses.
Your underwriting grant to WFHU is tax deductable and will go directly toward the maintenance and upkeep of our studio and transmitter facilities. A portion of all gifts also goes into a restricted fund for the purchase of additional equipment as the radio station has need.
Our goal is to purchase audio and broadcast equipment that is HD ready as WFHU begins to move closer to broadcasting in HD Radio! There is no firm target date for the HD Broadcast. However, we have already begun to purchase and replace older equipment with new HD technology. This move to HD Radio will take a period of time over the next few years. But, with your generous assistance, we can meet our goal of broadcasting in HD in the near future.
