Freed-Hardeman NBS Chapter

 

National Broadcasting Society--NBS--is a nation-wide organization for professional radio and television broadcasters and student Electronic Media majors.

Freed-Hardeman University's NBS Chapter meets every other Thursday, Professional Club Night, at 6:00 p.m. in Gardner Center Room 306.

National Broadcasting Society was formed on the campus of Stephens College in Missouri in 1943. NBS has as its purpose to enhance the development of college and university students involved in broadcasting, cable, telecommunications and other electronic media by:

1. Promoting excellence.
2. Providing opportunities for leadership.
3. Providing exposure to the broadcast/film industry.
4. Assisting career preparation.
5. Providing opportunities for the development of members through advanced  media education programs at local, district, regional and national levels.

Alpha Epsilon Rho (AERho) is the honor society within the National Broadcasting Society. Its membership is restricted to the "best of the best" found within the membership ranks of NBS.
