Freed-Hardeman University’s Dr. Richard England will perform at Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art in Nashville Saturday, March 22. His performance is part of the six-week “Cheekwood in Bloom” festival, which will feature activities each Saturday and Sunday.
England will play the piano in the museum drawing room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. He will perform works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann and Rachmaninoff. He also plans to play more contemporary pop, country and movie theme selections.
England, a professor of music at FHU, teaches courses in music appreciation, music history and piano. No stranger to Cheekwood, England was a featured musician at Cheekwood’s “LIGHT” exhibition in the summer of 2013. He has been asked to perform at a variety of venues across the nation.
